Whether your child is passionate about horseback riding or wants to discover the sport, the dEQouverte center in Brossard offers a half-day group lesson at CLUB EQ (Club équestre du Quartier de Brossard) to deepen classical equestrian concepts according to their program of Petit Cavalier levels 1-2-3-4-5, and a half-day with the farm animals, maintaining their enclosures, grooming them, feeding them and ensuring their well-being, in an enchanting environment of the Fermette Urbaine.

Riding lessons consist of 1 hour in the saddle (warm-up, exercises, and cool-down), 30 minutes for a snack, and 1.5 hours of stable management: brushing, grooming, learning about coat colors, parts of the room including the bridle and equipment, as well as fun and educational workshops. The goal is to make our riders independent and confident on horseback. Each child gradually progresses through the levels. Petit Cavaliers » from Club EQ to motivate them to move forward and assimilate new skills and knowledge.

When you register, you can add classes at 8:00-9:00 AM or 4:00-5:00 PM for $70. You can add classes one week in advance; otherwise, registration is on-site, subject to availability, which fills up very quickly—trust us! Only one extra class per day is permitted.

Protection on horseback
For horseback riding, it is important to wear comfortable pants (any type will do, as long as they allow for good freedom of movement) and ankle boots or heeled boots. These two items are mandatory at all times to ensure your child's safety; otherwise, you will be charged for the equipment (subject to availability) or your child's lesson will be cancelled without the possibility of a make-up lesson.

We lend helmets (safety helmets) to those who don't have one. If you prefer to bring your own helmet, it must:
• be designed exclusively for equestrian practice;
• be certified by one of the following organizations:

• ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials),
• SEI (Safety Equipment Institute, Inc.),
• BSI/BS EN (British Standards Institution),
• EN (European Union),
• AS/NZS (Australia and New Zealand).

The protective helmet must be properly adjusted using the safety straps which must be held in place at all times and must correspond to the size of the rider's head.
